Amaretto liqueur flavouring makes a bitter-sweet liqueur full of almond or apricot flavour simulating the original Italian made Disaronno. Used in lots of mixed drinks and food recipes to enhance flavour, this is an absolute must in any liqueur cabinet and chef’s pantry for use in drinks, savory dishes and desserts. Take a neutral spirit produced from a reflux still and water down using reverse osmosis water to 40% alcohol. Take 910 ml of neutral spirit and add the essence along with 290 ml of table sugar. Mix together well and age for at least 2 weeks before serving. This is a cheap and easy way to recreate the authentic Amaretto taste without having to spend a fortune at the liqueur store. Makes ~ 1.2 litres of liqueur.
