Triple Sec Liqueur is colorless and sweet but not cloying with strong orange overtones. It’s made from dried peels of bitter and sweet oranges offering notes of citrus oils, eucalyptus and orange blossom. Drink neat or on ice, and use it in mixed cocktails such as the Margarita and Cosmopolitan. Take a neutral spirit produced from a reflux still and water down using reverse osmosis water to 40% alcohol. Take 750 ml of neutral spirit and add the essence along with 350 ml of table sugar and 145 ml of water. Mix together well and age for at least 2 weeks before serving. This is a cheap and easy way to recreate the authentic Triple Sec taste without having to spend a fortune at the liqueur store. Makes ~ 1.2 litres of liqueur.
