Calcium Chloride (Per Lb)
Used to lower the pH, and adds hardness when water is low in chlorides.
Calcium Chloride (CaCl) brewing salt pellets are used to lower the pH, and adds hardness when water is low in chlorides. Use up to 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons prior to boil.
Adding 1 gram of calcium chloride to 1 gallon will add approximately:
– 72 ppm (parts per million) of Ca+2
– 127 ppm (parts per million) of Cl-1
