Accentuates hop bitterness giving it a “crispness” while slightly decreasing pH.
Magnesium Sulfate (MgSO4) aka Epsom Salt, lowers the pH slightly and will add a “crispness” to the hop bitterness.
Adding 1 gram of magnesium sulfate to 1 gallon will add approximately:
– 26 ppm (parts per million) of Mg+2
– 103 ppm (parts per million) of SO4-2
