Crisp No. 19 Floor-Malted Maris Otter® (formerly Gleneagles Maris Otter®) is an English ale malt made from the famous Maris Otter® barley variety and malted by hand in a traditional floor-malting facility.
Introduced in 1965, Maris Otter® barley is one of the oldest varieties still used to produce high quality malt for breweries around the world. Crisp’s Maris Otter is grown under contract by selected Norfolk farmers and is recognized worldwide as the benchmark barley for the best ale malt.
The floor malting process imparts richer aroma and flavour, heightening Maris Otter’s natural character. No. 19 Floor-malted Maris Otter is an outstanding addition to any ale grist where you want a rich, bready malt flavour.
