BRU-1 Hops (T90 Pellets) 2020 Crop

BRU-1 hops are a newer experimental variety developed by John I. Haas and Brulotte Farms in the Yakima Valley. This new American style hop exhibits big and bold aromas of pineapple and stone fruit with a soft spicy background. BRU-1 has a high Myrcene oil content that makes up over 50% of the total oil and is great in hazy IPA’s as an aroma hop, but also offers clean bittering at 13 – 15% AA. BRU-1 pairs well with Citra, Chinook, and is well suited for Pales, IPAs or perhaps a funky Belgian.

Alpha Acid: 13-15%
Beta Acid: 8-10%
Co-Humulone: 35-37%
Total Oil: 1.5-2.0 mls/100g
Typical Usage: Aroma, with clean bittering
Characteristics: Pineapple, tropical fruit, melon & spicy
Beer Styles: Pales, IPA’s, NEIPA’s & funky Belgians
Similar Hop Varieties: Citra, Denali
