Description

Stainless Steel ULWD Heating Element 120V/1650W Straight Foldback

Save money on propane and take your brewing to the next level with electrical precision. Our 1650 watt stainless steel brewing element is made entirely of 304 stainless steel and will not rust, while the 1.5″ tri-clamp flange and integrated L6-30P twist lock plug will make your electrical build that much easier. The ultra low watt density element produces very low wattage per square inch, greatly reducing the chance of scorching and/or caramelizing your wort. If accidentally plugged in dry, these ultra low watt density elements will not break as quickly. However, always ensure the element is fully submerged in water/wort before turning on the power.

Below are a few real-world examples of average time required to heat water using a 1500 watt element:

7 gallons of tap water (7°C) to grain steeping temp (68°C) = ~ 73 min
7 gallons of water from (68°C) to boil (100°C) = ~ 38 min

I have used this for over a year and getting to mash temp consistently takes me closer to 60-65 min rather than 73. I’ve seen many comments online that a 1500W ULWD element won’t get you to a rolling boil, but I’ve never had an issue. The element works great and gets you to temp marginally faster than the posted times.
