Startup is a non-DAP containing nutrient blend of vitamins and minerals, that provides the balanced nutrition for complete fermentation. It is also useful for stimulating slow or sluggish ferments. Formulated to provide all of the complex nutrition in Superfood, but without inorganic nitrogen (DAP). Comes in a 2 mil resealable food grade baggie.
Typical Usage: Dry yeast rehydration and re-inoculating stuck fermentations.
Ingredients: yeast hulls, yeast extract, complex minerals and vitamins.
How to use: Add 3 grams to distilled rehydration water prior to adding yeast, so the yeast absorb nutrients while absorbing water. It is recommended to rehydrate yeast when starting gravity exceeds 1.060, but to ensure a perfect fermentation that reaches its full flavour potential, always rehydrate.
Yeast nutrient schedule: To ensure the healthiest and most complete fermentation possible, begin with StartUp to rehydrate dry yeast. Then add Yeastex 82 during the boil, followed by SuperFood during active fermentation.
