This Scottish ale is commonly referred to as the “Wee Heavy”. It’s a malt-rich, sweet and slightly roasty ale with smoky notes and hints of caramel. Our Scottish Strong Scotch extract kit comes with 13 pounds of the highest quality LME and steeping grains. Mild-moderately bittered with two hop additions, this ale has a medium-full body and a light alcohol warming. A great brew for experienced extract brewers who enjoy strong European-style specialty ales. This recipe requires good control of fermentation temperature and a proper yeast starter.

	Traquair House Ale The original ale first brewed in 1965 and now sold all over the world. The most distinctive Scottish ale on the market and with its rich dark oakiness, this is a serious winter ale.
Backwoods Bastard Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts, a bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark fruit. A sipper made to excite the palate.
	Innis & Gunn Rum Finish is matured over oak heartwood and infused with specially selected rums. It’s spicy, full-bodied, yet surprisingly light with ruby red colour. Lots of fruit and spice flavours and aromas.
